Public marking of the Reformation Anniversary

Date: 30-05-2016

Throughout 2017 the Folkeuniversitet marks the 500th anniversary of Luther's 95 theses with festive, innovative and educational events all across Denmark. The purpose is to give all Danes knowledge about the Reformation and its significance today. Further, it is the aim to create occasions where people can learn about the Reformation and its aftermath. The vision is to make the Danes learn about the history, heritage and the ideas we are rounded by and also to use the Reformation and Luther's posting of the 95 theses as a springboard for a discussion of what the Protestant heritage has meant to the Danish society and for the individual today.

The activities are primarily within 7 projects and events:

· Modern thesis development with conversation salons
· Publishing of material for teaching the reformation
· Research-tour with Danish scholars
· Reformation Live
· Historic talk shows with Luther
· RR2017 - Rethink Reformation festival
