Music and Song

Hymns are probably some of the best known and most loved religious texts in Denmark today. Generations of children have sung hymns at morning assembly, and at Danish christenings and funerals many of the hymns still sung today are from the time of the Reformation. Music and congregations singing hymns together in their native language were key to the dissemination of Reformation ideas – and for the development of Lutheran Protestant culture.
