Family and Upbringing

Contemporary Danish understandings of the family have been heavily influenced by the Reformation’s emphasis on the importance of the family and everyday life. The reformers’ view of family and upbringing also emphasised authority and obedience, which apparently does not harmonise with present-day views on children, child rearing and family life in Denmark. Are there traditions and models that still have relevance, despite the fact that so much has changed?
